Partita on As With Gladness Men of Old (DIX)

Five individual and contrasting movements based on the familiar "Dix" tune and accompanying Epiphany text of "As With Gladness Men of Old."

Movements

I.	Leading onward, beaming bright
II.	As with joyful steps they sped
III.	At thy cradle, rude and bare
IV.	In the heavenly country bright
V.	There forever may we sing, Alleluias to our King

Variations on Now Sing We, Now Rejoice (IN DULCI JUBILO)

A colorful setting of this favorite 14th Century German carol. The continuous set of variations begins with a manuals only duo and progressively builds to a full organ joyous conclusion. A contrasting middle variation in minor compliments the arrangement.

Partita on Savior of the Nations Come (NUM KOMM, DER HEIDEN HEILAND)

Three individual and contrasting sections based on Johann Walther's traditional Advent tune, "Nun Komm, Der Heiden Heiland." The first movement, in the style of Hugo Distler's partita of the same name, features a fanfare style introduction followed by two contrasting settings of the tune. Walther's tune and a familiar "Noel" by Cesar Franck create a warm singing middle movement. The closing movement conveys a sense of confidence with its drving bass movement supporting the soaring treble melody.

I.	Moderato: In the style of Hugo Distler's "Partita on Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland"
II.	Cantabile: Quoting a Noel by Cesar Franck
III.	Allegro

Infant Holy, Infant Lowly (W ZLOBIE LEZY)

A joyous and rhythmically colorful setting of this favorite Christmas tune. The opening and closing sections of this arrangement, featuring a bouncy setting of the tune with calypso style accompaniment, are contrasted by a more traditional middle section.

We Three Kings (WE THREE KINGS)

John Hopkins, Jr.'s time honored and familiar We Three Kings is captured in this arrangement with a recurring pedal part symbolizing the camel procession. The joyous refrain compliments the setting.
